England - Enjoy Yourself

Hello to all our lovely eTwinning Schoolovision friends in this wonderful 10th Anniversary year!

England's song this year was originally sung in the 1940s but was made popular in the UK in the 1970s by a band called "The Specials" who came from Coventry, a city just 40 minutes away from Leicester!  The band played 2 Tone and Ska music and were formed with a strong anti-racist focus.  We celebrate cultural diversity in our school and city every day and continue the tradition of promoting peace and harmony and living well together.

We think that we should all focus on the positive, live in the moment and smile a whole lot more ...

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as you wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

Hello we're Mayflower Primary School and we're going to enjoy ourselves first.

It's good to be wise when you're young
'Cause you can only be young but the once
Enjoy yourself and have lots of fun
So glad and live life longer than you've ever done

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as you wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

Get wisdom, get knowledge and understanding
These three were given free by the maker
Go to school, learn the rules, don't be no faker
It's not wise for you to be a footstool

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink
The years go by, as quickly as you wink
Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

  2. Oh, what a cool entry again!
First of all I was impressed by the sheer number of pupils you have in your school. I think we would only manage to fill the first two letters with our bunch here.
It's amazing to see your students enjoy themselves in this fun project. They are all so very cool dancers. Remembering last year's entry we can assume that many staff members moved their hips quite a bit too during the production of this video.
Lovely ideas with the green screen!
    Thanks for a great show!
